In a lot of cars now a days the bulbs either change from the back (turn the socket [where the wires go in] counterclockwise 1/4 turn, and it'll pull out), or like my truck's rear lights, I need to unscrew the mounting screws and take the entire assembly out to get to the bulbs on the backside.
